John has been living and working in Vietnam since 1993 and he is currently responsible for the Advisory practice of KPMG. From 2004 (when he joined KPMG) until 2009 he was the Managing Partner of the Audit practice and he was the Quality & Risk Management Partner from 2004 until 2014. He was also the Chairman of the firm for four years until 2014. Since John joined KPMG in 2004 he has overseen the growth of the firm from 2 Partners and less than 200 staff to 28 Partners and more than 1,000 staff. Prior to joining KPMG in 2004 John spent more than 17 years with another of the “Big 4” accounting firms and worked with that firm in Australia, England, Hungary, Poland and Vietnam.
John has extensive experience in managing and coordinating numerous advisory engagements in Vietnam and Cambodia. He has experience in leading large teams of people from different cultural and professional backgrounds and a proven record in delivering results in difficult internal and external environments. Through his experience John has developed a wealth of knowledge and understanding regarding business and business practices in Vietnam and Cambodia and has assisted many businesses (state owned, privately owned, foreign owned) to succeed in Vietnam and Cambodia.
