The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) is seeking public comments on a dispute initiated by China under the Marrakesh Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organization (WTO).
According to today’s USTR notice, China has requested a WTO dispute settlement panel, alleging that certain clean energy tax credits under the “Inflation Reduction Act” violate WTO agreements. The tax credits are:
Although USTR will accept any comments during the course of the dispute settlement proceeding, comments must be submitted on or before the date that is 30 days after the date of publication in the Federal Register (scheduled to be August 27, 2024) to be assured of timely consideration.
