Over 200 tariff classifications for steel, aluminum, and EV products may be affected
The federal government has announced the following surtaxes on imports from China:
In addition to these surtaxes, the government plans to launch a 30-day consultation to gather feedback from sectors and businesses that import batteries and battery parts, semiconductors, solar products, and critical minerals. Furthermore, the government intends to limit eligibility for select incentives for zero-emission vehicles to trade agreement partners.
The Department of Finance has provided a list of over 200 tariff classifications for steel, aluminum, and EV products that may be affected.
