Brendan Matthews

Brendan is a Managing Director for KPMG CF LLC’s Energy Group and is based in Houston. Brendan specializes on investment banking transactions and leads coverage in the traditional energy sector, but continues to focus on emerging energy opportunities related to renewables and sustainability.

Brendan offers a nearly 20-year career that has been entirely dedicated to energy investment banking and consulting. He has participated in the execution of more than sixty MA&D sell-side and buy-side transactions totaling in excess of $50 billion. His extensive transactional experience stretches across several conventional and unconventional producing regions in the U.S. and scope of assignments includes strategic advisory, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, public capital markets, private capital markets and restructurings.

Prior to KPMG, Brendan was a Director at PJ Solomon, LP where he focused on coordinating the energy’s team’s business development objectives and strategic market initiatives for the upstream and midstream sectors. Brendan’s additional experience includes energy investment banking roles with Citi, RBC Capital Markets – RBC Richardson Barr and Jefferies & Company – Randall & Dewey.
