Eric is a Director with ~15 years of experience serving private equity and corporate clients. Prior to serving as a Director at KPMG Strategy, Eric was the COO/Acting CEO for a private equity owned company. As a result of the company’s successful turnaround, Eric received the “2021 Corporate Turnaround of the Year Award” by the Global M&A Network and the “2021 Restructuring Community Impact Award” by The M&A Advisor.
Prior to that role, Eric served as Senior Vice President – Strategic Initiatives at Simon Group Holdings (SGH), a holding company which operates portfolio companies with over $1 billion in combined revenue. At SGH, Eric worked on a variety of performance improvement projects across the portfolio.
Led an operational due diligence assessing the synergy opportunities as part of a buy-side acquisition of a national QSR chain. Developed large cost cutting initiatives which could be fully implemented within 3-months post-acquisition and, as a result, the private equity buyer successful closed the transaction with the KPMG identified synergies comprising a large part of the investment rationale.
Created the international expansion financial model for the executive team of the highest grossing quick service restaurant chain in the US. From the analysis, the company changed the country to which it is expanding, which saved the company from an estimated $500 million in potential losses.
Built a multi-step acquisition and divestiture financial model for a NASDAQ-listed medical products distribution company. This included analyzing the impact of simultaneously doing an acquisition and a divestiture, as well as advising the CFO on communicating the earnings per share benefits to wall street equity analysts. Both transactions which were modeled successfully closed and totaled over $1.8 billion.
Implemented the cash flow improvement strategy for a NASDAQ-listed waste disposal transportation and compliance solutions services company. As a result, identified $175 million in targeted cash flow improvements.
Performed diligence around platform growth, market sizing, and brand diligence for a celebrity-backed, unicorn start-up company as part of a sell-side SPAC transaction. The diligence report was published publicly and bolstered investor confidence in the investment opportunity.
Developed the internet and retail pricing strategy and ran in-market price testing for an NYSE-listed national retail chain. The pricing and marketing strategy increased sales by over 20% for new loyalty program members.
