New measures concern the deductibility of company cars and tax incentives for the installation of charging stations.

The deductibility of the costs of electric cars will be more advantageous when compared to the tax treatment of petrol, diesel, and hybrid cars (treatment that is to be phased out). The tax benefit depends on the fuel type and on the date of purchase, lease or rent of the company car.

Businesses also may be eligible for tax incentives with regard to the installation of electric charging stations—including an increased deduction for depreciation on investments in publicly accessible and “intelligent” electric charging stations. Under certain conditions, individual taxpayers also may qualify for tax incentives for expenses relating to the installation of an electric charging station at home.
