Instructs personnel at all U.S. ports of entry to detain disposable gloves
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a “withhold release order” on disposable gloves produced by a Malaysian corporation and its subsidiaries.
According to the CBP release, the withhold release order is based on information that “reasonably indicates” the use of forced labor in manufacturing operations. CBP identified 10 of the International Labour Organization’s indicators of forced labor during its investigation.
Effective October 21, 2021, the withhold release order instructs personnel at all U.S. ports of entry to detain disposable gloves produced by the Malaysian corporation and its subsidiaries.
