Tax administrative and legislative initiatives
Various tax administrative and legislative initiatives include the following:
- A bill (no. 22,542) establishes tax incentives for investments made by foreign innovation and technology companies
- An executive decree (no. 43047-MTSS) regarding reform of the procedure for the suspension of labor contracts
- A measure requiring all importers and exporters engaged in commercial activity to be registered in a “virtual tax administration” portal (ATV)
- An update of the interest rate for underpayments and overpayments of tax
- A resolution from the tax authority (No. DGT-R-22-2021) regarding the criteria for classification of “large national taxpayers” to replace the category of “large territorial companies”
- A resolution (RES-DGH-008-2021) regarding the procedure to be followed to request the refund of the taxes paid on imports when an exemption application cannot be timely made
