Guidance regarding administration of the platform for electronic filing of tax returns
The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) on 4 June 2021 issued a notice providing guidance regarding the administration of its platform for electronic filing (e-filing) of tax returns.
Specifically, the platform—TaxPro-Max—is intended to facilitate tax registration, return filing, tax payment, and automated credits of withholding tax and other credits to taxpayer accounts.
Beginning 7 June 2021, taxpayers are required to submit all naira-denominated tax returns via the platform. Accordingly, taxpayers will first need to generate a document identity number (DIN) to pay their tax liabilities. Taxpayers seeking other methods for filing their tax returns are directed to contact their local tax office.
