An amendment requires all trusts—whether domestic or foreign—to file a return

Guidance issued by the tax authority requires all trusts to file a return.

Resolution No. DGT-ICD-R-020-2021 amends the rules regarding transparency and ultimate beneficiaries. Specifically, the amendment requires all trusts—whether domestic or foreign—to file a return, even for activities conducted outside of Costa Rica. The first return will cover the period 1 June 2021 through 31 October 2021.
