Draft legislation to extend certain relief measures submitted to Belgian Parliament
Draft legislation to extend certain temporary relief measures in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has been submitted to the Belgian Parliament.
The draft legislation proposes to extend the following value added tax (VAT) relief measures:
- Reduced VAT rate for masks and hydroalcoholic gels: The reduced VAT rate of 6% would continue to apply through 30 September 2021 with regard to the supply, intra-Community acquisition, and import of masks and hydroalcoholic gels.
- Reduced rate of interest on late payments of VAT: The rate of interest on late payments of VAT would be temporarily reduced for the months April, May, and June 2021 and also for the months in the third calendar quarter of 2021 (July, August, and September).
