Professional services firm KPMG UK has appointed a new automotive lead as the business helps clients bounce back from COVID-19, address the new world of mobility and digital consumer interaction, and transition to an electric future.
As UK Head of Automotive, Richard Peberdy will lead the firm’s team that advises global auto manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and the broad range of mobility providers across the private and public sectors.
A senior partner at KPMG, Richard has more than 25 years of experience in the automotive sector and was previously KPMG UK’s Head of National Markets Deal Advisory. His role will focus on further building the firm’s network across the sector and assisting clients with their corporate strategy, business change, governance, and compliance.
Rebecca Shalom, partner, Head of Defence and Manufacturing at KPMG UK, said: “Automotive is going through a period of fundamental change as consumer mobility transforms, climate change drives product design and advances in technology create a revolution in product connectivity.
“We know that to navigate these challenges and the opportunities ahead, both in the short and long-term, businesses right across the sector will need sound advice and insight to support them in delivering their strategies.
“Richard’s experience and expertise will provide our clients with the service and guidance they need to deliver the best outcomes and help drive their businesses forward.”
Richard Peberdy, UK Head of Automotive at KPMG, said: “There has never been a more exciting time to develop our position in the automotive sector. Mobility is changing so quickly, bringing new challenges and requiring businesses to partner with other sectors to provide the products and services the modern consumer demands.
“At KPMG, we are enabling and supporting the investment required to protect and enhance the UK’s position in advanced engineering and help bring to life the country’s decarbonisation strategy ahead of COP26. I also have a passion for understanding and bridging the skills and learning gap that such significant change is creating in the sector.
“I’m proud to lead this talented and experienced team and I look forward to supporting our clients in shaping their businesses for future growth.”
