The NSPCC and KPMG share a passionate belief that young people from all backgrounds should have the power to shape their future rather than letting it be determined by circumstances outside their control.

450,000 futures

By combining our values, expertise and passion we aim to raise £1.5 million to help reach 450,000 young people across the UK by September 2020.

We want to help unlock the potential of young people and make sure they have the greatest chance of achieving their ambitions. Our support will focus on tackling abuse, through the Speak Out, Stay Safe schools programme and Childline, as well as giving children the lifelong skills to help keep themselves safe.

The vital work the NSPCC does depends on companies and individuals donating their time and resources. Alongside fundraising, we are inviting our employees to volunteer with the NSPCC, and are also offering pro bono support based on our areas of expertise and specialisms.

Why is the NSPCC’s work important?

Abuse robs children of their childhood - reducing their life chances and opportunities to succeed in the future. Experiences of neglect or abuse can profoundly impact on later life chances:

  • 1 in 5 children in the UK have suffered abuse. That damage can last a lifetime - affecting relationships, physical and emotional development, well-being and employment success.
  • One research study found that nine out of ten children who experienced abuse or neglect in their early years went on to have mental health problems
  • The majority (63%) of children in care in England are there because of abuse or neglect. 93% of care leavers do not go on to university.

4 main areas of support

Fundraising: We aim to raise £1.5 million to help reach 450,000 young people across the UK. So far our KPMG employees have abseiled down our Head Office in London, run the London Marathon and trekked the Great Wall of China, along with many other fantastic fundraising events spreading across the country.

In June 2019 we are kicking off KPMG's Wheely Big Cycle, where we will see over 400 of our colleagues, clients, alumni, family and friends cycle the length and breadth of the country.

Volunteering: Our people are volunteering for Childline and the NSPCC's Speak Out, Stay Safe programme.

Pro bono support: We’re helping to strengthen and support the NSPCC as an organisation through sharing our expertise and talent. Our KPMG Cyber team have used their professional skills and expertise to run workshops with the NSPCC around how they can best keep children safe online.

Making our voices heard: We’re driving positive change for children and young people by combining the voice and influence of both KPMG and the NSPCC through thought leadership.
