Robert leads our UK and Global Private Equity practice and is the Global head of Sovereign Wealth. With over 20 years’ experience in the private equity industry, Robert has advised direct investors including private equity funds, family offices, sovereign wealth and pension funds on numerous transactions.

Robert is the Global or European lead partner for a selection of our largest PE clients including Advent, Carlyle, CVC and KKR and continues to advise several of our largest clients and their portfolio companies on some of the most complex cross-border transactions, across a wide range of industries and geographies dealing with acquisitions, disposals, and refinancing.

Examples of Robert’s transaction experience includes Senvion (acquisition for Centerbridge); Lumenis and Compo Expert (acquisitions for XIO); BvD (acquisition for EQT) Mauser (acquisition for CDR);  Chesapeake (acquisition for Carlyle); Serbia Broadband (acquisition for KKR); D&G (acquisition for CVC), Ahlsell (sale for Cinven/GS), Iceland (late abort for BCP), Bond Helicopters (acquisition for KKR), Springer (sale for Cinven/Arle), Magotteaux (sale for IK), and Clal Insurance (late abort for Permira).

Robert has been a Partner at KPMG since 2004. Prior to joining KPMG, Robert trained and became a partner at Andersen, and subsequently at Deloitte. He is a charity trustee and school governor for two leading independent schools.
