Colin Martin

Colin has over 24 years of financial sector experience gained through both his work in the assurance practice and his work as an IFRS conversion and technical accounting specialist. Colin has provided accounting advice and guidance to most of the major UK banks in the application of IFRS. In addition, Colin is one of the foremost specialists in derivative and financial instrument accounting and has spent a considerable amount of time developing tools and methodologies for use in the application of IAS 39 and more recently, IFRS 9, to financial institutions. Colin is an experienced presenter and trainer and has provided accounting training for many clients and internal KPMG staff. He has provided thought leadership presentations for the Audit Committee Institute, Infoline and the International Society of Corporate Treasurers as well as the ICAEW, the EBF and the PRA. Currently with KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice in the UK, spends around 25% of his time supporting KPMG’s global practice through secondment to the International Standards Group.
