Marc is an experienced advisor on debt transactions, having joined KPMG Debt Advisory in 2010 from international law firm Freshfields, where he was a banking solicitor.
Marc has a broad practice involving domestic and international debt financings, restructurings and financing options assessments for private, public, sponsor-backed and not-for-profit clients. He specialises in financings in the Higher Education and wider not-for-profit sectors, and he is a member of KPMG’s Education and Social Housing leadership teams. Marc also has responsibility for the firm’s ESG financing proposition. He is a recognised specialist in Asset Based Lending (ABL) and is the sole debt advisor member of the Steering Committee of the Secured Finance Network Europe, and a regular guest speaker at industry events.
Marc’s experience includes bank, public bond, private placement and ESG-linked transactions, with deals including:
- University College London on its debut 40-year sustainable bond and associated credit rating;
- University of Leeds on its 30-year bond tap and debut RCF;
- University of Nottingham and University of East Anglia on bank and private placement transactions;
- Anchor Trust and Hanover Housing on financing aspects of their merger; and
- Domestic and cross-border ABL financings for clients including Staffline Group, Stelrad, GAP Group and Young’s Seafood.
Outside of work, Marc is a semi-professional tenor with a passion for opera and musical theatre.
