Value creation through business transformation
On 28 April 2016 KPMG in Ukraine, KPMG in Switzerland, Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine and the agency Switzerland Global Enterprise organized a seminar “Value creation through business transformation – a Swiss approach”. The event was devoted to doing business in Switzerland and opportunities, that KPMG, Embassy of Switzerland and Switzerland Global Enterprise can provide in this respect.
The seminar gathered leading representatives of Ukrainian and international business community, among which were existing and potential clients of KPMG. The event was moderated by Sergey Popov, partner of KPMG in Ukraine, and Svetlana Romanova, Chief Legal Officer at “Metinvest Holding”. Speakers were Gillaume Scheurer, Ambassador of Switzerland to Ukraine, Anna Johnson and Hans Mies, representatives of KPMG in Switzerland, and Liv Minder, director for investment promotion at Switzerland Global Enterprise – agency that helps foreign companies to start business in Switzerland.
Several companies shared their successful stories of doing business in Switzerland. Among them were Oleksiy Vadaturskyi, CEO at “Nibulon”, Dmytro Kushnir, VP at Luxoft, and Thomas Ingold, controller at Ferrexpo. In total, representatives of over 35 companies took part in the seminar.
The guests also had an opportunity to have an individual consultation with representative of Switzerland global Enterprise, during which they could receive advice regarding opening a business in Switzerland for a particular enterprise. In the reception area of KPMG office there was a photo exhibition “Switzerland: beauty and innovation”. The guests could admire pictures of Swiss nature and architecture and feel the atmosphere of Switzerland.
For KPMG this seminar was an opportunity to share experience of our tax experts, because a major part of the seminar was devoted to tax and legal questions. Having invited experts from KPMG in Switzerland, KPMG also demonstrated its international opportunities that could be useful for Ukrainian companies. During the seminar an agreement was reached regarding further cooperation between KPMG and Embassy of Switzerland, participation of Sergey Popov in the events, organized by the Embassy, that would be helpful for business development of KPMG.
The business community appreciated the level of the seminar and information that they received from KPMG experts.
