全球創投的交易量在2016年下滑了24%，投資金額下滑9.4%，總計1270億美元，達到自2016年第一季以來的最低點。若以區域來分，歐洲及美洲無論在交易金額與交易活動在此一時期都顯著的降低，然而亞洲的市場仍維持平穩。而在交易規模的部分，種子輪、A輪的交易規模較2015年有所增加，B輪的交易規模持平，D輪以後的交易規模稍降；這顯示了雖然投資者對後期交易的警惕心增加，但仍然願意為適當的機會付出投資。
