Murat Palaoğlu, who is leading the Customs and Foreign Trade Services Department and is a Partner of company in the Tax Department at KPMG Türkiye, has over 20 years of professional experience in the field. Mr. Palaoğlu began his career as an Investigator at the Prime Ministry Undersecretariat of Customs and the Ministry of Customs and Trade, continued as a Chief Investigator and joined KPMG Türkiye in 2012. Mr. Palaoğlu received his master’s degree in Financial Economics and Multinational Trade at Boston University. He has also attended Harvard University, where he participated Money and Monetary Policy studies. He also participated in the Professional Service Firm Management Programme at Harvard Business School. Mr. Palaoğlu is currently pursuing his PhD in International Trade and EU Law at Istanbul Ticaret University. Mr. Palaoğlu has been giving lectures on Customs and Foreign Trade at Istanbul University and on Finance and International Business at Boston University. Mr. Palaoğlu has been conducting studies on strategic decision making, investment and supply chain planning, customs disputes, penalties and opportunity analyses, digital transformation, sustainability, carbon border adjustment, research-development and investment incentives in the field of Foreign Trade and Customs and has sector expertise in Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Electronics, Pharmaceuticals, Automotive and Energy. Mr. Palaoğlu also serves as the Chairman of Foreign Economic Relations Board Customs and Foreign Trade Working Group and Industrial Production Sector Leader at KPMG Türkiye.
