KPMG Appoints New Head of Financial Services
3 March 2021, Singapore – KPMG in Singapore has named Anton Ruddenklau as Head of Financial Services, with immediate effect. He most recently served as Global Co-Leader of Fintech for KPMG International, and Partner and Head of Digital and Innovation for Financial Services in KPMG in the U.K.
With deep domain expertise in emerging areas such as cryptocurrency and platform-based business models, Ruddenklau has been a driving force behind KPMG’s global efforts to spur innovation, transformation and scale in Financial Services. Ruddenklau will harness this experience in digital transformation and customer growth to provide strategic direction and impetus to the Financial Services practice at KPMG in Singapore.
“Anton’s wealth of global leadership experience will help guide our clients through a highly disruptive period for Financial Services. Given the rising demand for transformation projects in the Asian marketplace, his understanding of growth strategies and financial technology innovations will enable us to deliver more effective results for our clients. Anton’s arrival will also help intensify our focus on this key sector, against the backdrop of the rapidly evolving digital finance landscape,” said Ong Pang Thye, Managing Partner, KPMG in Singapore.
Financial Services is one of KPMG in Singapore’s priority sectors, as the new realities of the post-crisis world bring into focus digital and customer-centric solutions, as well as sustainability and cost reduction strategies.
Having spearheaded or advised on more than 200 growth projects, Ruddenklau brings extensive experience in assessment and strategy design for emerging business models including embedded finance, marketplace models, e-commerce platforms, market utilities and joint ventures. Prior to working in Financial Services, Ruddenklau led projects with many large global corporates in the Consumer and Technology sectors.
“I’m looking forward to the exciting new journey in Singapore, a leading global financial hub with a progressive regulator. My vision is to strengthen KPMG’s proposition as a digital beacon for our clients, the markets we serve and our global network. We are seeing several compelling opportunities for growth, including the digital convergence of traditional sector boundaries and the transformation of business models along cost, revenue and service lines. Given KPMG’s heritage in risk, regulation and finance, our salient mission is to help clients safely achieve their aspirations with innovative and ‘art of the possible’ solutions,” said Ruddenklau.
Ruddenklau joined KPMG in the U.K. as a partner in 2014 and helmed the firm’s Digital and Innovation for Financial Services division from 2017. In 2018, he was named the Global Co-Leader of FinTech.
