Next generation within sustainability gathered at KPMG's office to participate in roundtable discussions led by Marie Baumgarts and Sasja Beslik.

At KPMG's recent Sustainability Round Table Discussion, hosted by Sasja Beslik and Marie Baumgarts, key figures in sustainability from various companies and organizations came together to address pressing issues and share insights.

"The insights from these emerging sustainability leaders are vital in addressing today’s challenges and opportunities, and we must listen to what they have to say", comments Marie Baumgarts.

Some of the topics discussed

  • Sustainable Value Proposition: To achieve real change, it is essential to clearly articulate a sustainable value proposition. Few companies can genuinely answer this question, which remains the Achilles' heel of the entire sustainability movement.
  • Limited Resources: The world's limited resources are insufficient, and our current systems are failing to address this challenge. A fundamental shift in perspective and approach is required to tackle sustainability effectively.
  • Voice of Sustainability Leaders: Sustainability leaders need to be more vocal and brave in driving change within their organizations.
  • Regulatory Frameworks: While regulations are beneficial as enablers, they do not fully compel companies to change their business models. Therefore, we need other mechanisms, such as a strong value proposition, to drive meaningful change.
