KPMG report update: A re-regulated gambling market
Final bill regarding the re-regulation of the Swedish gambling market to Parliament.
We have in previous TaxNews informed about the Swedish Government’s draft proposal for new gambling regulations in Sweden. The Swedish Government’s proposal has now been further updated, and on April 5, 2018 the Swedish Government published its final bill. A complimentary draft gambling regulation (Sw: “Spelförordning”) has also been proposed by the Swedish Government on March 29, 2018.
KPMG has therefore published a summary report with our comments, focusing on the demands for licensing, the enhanced protection of the players and the new proposed gambling tax. The Swedish parliament is expected to vote on the bill on June 7, and the new gambling regulations is proposed to enter into force on January 1, 2019. Please read more about the proposed new Swedish gambling regulations in our report "A re-regulated gambling market".
