A review of KSA 2019 budget and recent economic developments
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has delivered its 2019 budget on December 18, 2018.
The 2019 budget is a re-enforcement of the government commitment to provide continued support to Vision 2030 programs and achieving a fiscal balance by 2023.
The key highlights of the budget are:
- Largest ever budgeted spending, crossing the one trillion mark for the first time.
- The fiscal deficit is set to fall to SAR 131 billion in 2019, compared with SAR 136 billion in the previous year.
- Real GDP growth is expected to reach 2.6 percent in 2019, in anticipation of improved investor and consumer sentiment, supported by an increase in public capital expenditure.
