Victoria Zidaru

Artist vizual cu specializarile sculptura si tapiserie, nascuta in Liteni, Suceava In 1983 a absolvit Institutul de Arte Plastice "Nicolae Grigorescu", clasa prof. Paul Vasilescu. In 1984 primeste bursa pentru creatie acordata de Uniunea Artistilor Plastici din Romania. A participat la numeroase expozitii personale si de grup, saloane de arta nationale si internationale.

“Victoria Zidaru este una din cele mai puternice artiste din România. Prezenţă discretă, Victoria reuşeste să îşi construiască stilul feminin, mistic şi tradiţional românesc, îmbinând elemente naturale ce pornesc de la frunze moarte, paie, cânepă, împletită sau ţesături de in. La expoziţiile Victoriei ai o senzaţie primordială de copil protejat de sacralitatea mamei sale. Lucrările Victoriei te îmbrăţişează, te leagănă şi îţi murmură la ureche un cântec de leagăn. Instalaţiile Victoriei devin olfactive prin prezenţa buchetelor de busuioc, cimbru, lavandă sau sunătoare sau a uleiurilor volatile iar efectul completează perfect noţiunea de acasă -la expoziţiile Victoriei te simţi acasă. Teoretic o anti-feministă declarată, Victoria Zidaru opune feminismului de "import" o feminitate tradițională, conservatoare în care nu este vorba despre jocuri de putere sau despre patriarhat / matriarhat ci mai degrabă despre cuplu ca întreg: despre suport, afecţiune, înțelegere și iubire. Victoria Zidaru nu se poate defini în afara cuplului Victoria şi Marian Zidaru. Artist asumat în cultura românească cu un rol foarte dificil de artist misionar, cu o dimensiune profetică, Marian Zidaru este o forţă a naturii şi unul din cei mai prolifici artişti contemporani români Soţie a celui considerat unul din cei mai importanţi artişti contemporani români, Victoria Zidaru îşi completează soţul fără a fi, nicio secundă, în umbra acestuia. Rolul ei de mama şi soţie nu este în contradicție cu viziunea ei artistică ci în completarea acesteia. Lucrările Victoriei nu sunt "hand made" ci sunt cusute şi ţesute de mână, cu truda şi răbdarea caracteristică puternicelor noastre mame şi bunici. Visual artist specializing in sculpture and tapestry, born in Liteni, Suceava. In 1983 she graduated from the "Nicolae Grigorescu" Fine Arts Institute, Prof. Paul Vasilescu's class. In 1984 she received the grant for creation granted by the Union of Visual Artists from Romania. She participated in numerous personal and group exhibitions, and national art salons.

“Victoria Zidaru is one of the most powerful artists in Romania. A discreet presence, Victoria succeeds in building her feminine, mystical and traditional Romanian style, combining natural elements starting from dead leaves, straw, hemp, woven or linen fabrics. Theoretically an avowed anti-feminist, Victoria Zidaru opposes "imported" feminism to a traditional, conservative femininity in which it is not about power games or patriarchy/matriarchy but rather about the couple as a whole: about support, affection, understanding and love. Victoria Zidaru cannot define herself outside the couple Victoria and Marian Zidaru. An artist with a very difficult role in Romanian culture as a missionary artist, with a prophetic dimension, Marian Zidaru is a force of nature and one of the most prolific contemporary Romanian artists. Wife of one of the most important contemporary Romanian artists, Victoria Zidaru complements her husband without being, for a second, in his shadow. Her role as mother and wife is not in contradiction with her artistic vision but in complement to it. Victoria's works are not "hand made" but are sewn and woven by hand, with the hard work and patience characteristic of our strong mothers and grandmothers.
