Haris Tufail

Haris has over ten years experience of tax practice. Before joining KPMG in 2012 he worked with PwC.

Haris has apt knowledge of Pakistan’s taxation code and represents corporate clients before administration and appellate authorities on behalf of national and multinational clients. He has been involved in all sorts of advisory and compliance services under taxation laws of Pakistan to the clients. He has also been involved in number of ventures including tax due diligences and tax advisory work on structured transactions, double tax treaties’ issues, head office expenditures, employees’ taxation etc.

He has been the member of Karachi Tax Bar Association since 2020 and served as Joint Secretary during the tenure 2020-21. 

Haris has served clients from different industry segments including energy & natural resources, pharmaceuticals, FMCGs, manufacturing & trading, port trust, other service industries and non-resident entities. Some of Haris's experience includes:

• Advising clients on tax compliance, technical legal matters and on entry stage on setting up business in Pakistan
• Conducted buy side tax due diligence of OMC
• Leading a diversified client portfolio including courier companies, pharmaceuticals, shipping & engineering

Haris has been participating in the continuing professional development activities conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
