Sami as a Chartered Accountant has 20 years of extensive post qualification experience working with multinational organizations including ENR, power generation, manufacturing, construction, terminal handling, trading, hoteling, Airlines, IT, Banks/DFI’s and foreign portfolio investment around the world on a range of Tax and related advisory matters.
With a deep expertise in tax planning, Interpretation of international tax treaties, transfer pricing, expatriate tax, tax health check, cross-border mergers, tax due diligences, tax compliance services including representing clients before tax authorities, Appellate Forums and Board of Revenues and a passion for accelerating digitalization within tax, he sees his role as being a catalyst for problem solving to the complex business challenges that leaders face as they navigate the often volatile and constantly changing environment. Having started KPMG Pakistan in 2013, Sami has taken on various roles within the firm, most recently holding the role of Partner in Tax Function Karachi office, as well as leading the KPMG Tax Learning and Development program for KPMG Pakistan.
