BBC Technologies is set to develop a new NZD$14m Centre of Excellence in Research and Development in the Waikato Region.  Chief Executive Geoff Furniss stated that despite impacts of Covid-19, the new centre would still go ahead, and he expects the team to grow from 175 to 300 staff by 2025. BBC Technologies was started on a Waikato farm, and exports to 39 countries as a world leader in sorting and packing machines for small fruits.
