Research by Oxford University found that honey helps to combat antimicrobial resistance and it is more effective and less harmful than conventional cold medicines. New Zealand honey industry has experienced a boost in sales during the pandemic, with exports increasing by approximately 20% on the previous year. CEO of Apiculture NZ Karin Kos expects to see continued growth in both export and domestic revenue for honey.
