As China’s imports of NZ beef for June and July decreased by 40% year-on-year, shipments to US increased 80% and 90% respectively. AgriHQ senior analyst Mel Croad stated that “When the US prices were high, Chinese importers didn’t compete and it remains to be seen if that market demand comes back to its previous level”.
