On 16 August, KPMG hosted a breakfast event to support the official release of the Responsible Investment Association of Australasia’s (RIAA) 2018 New Zealand Report. Erica Miles, Director at KPMG welcomed 50 guests and introduced Simon O’Conner, Chief Executive of the RIAA who shared insights and spoke about the emerging trends that are helping to heighten awareness of and shape the future of responsible and ethical investing here and in Australia. Simon was then joined by guest panellists Leah Willis, Raewyn Jones, Erica Miles and Matt Mimms, who each shared their own experiences and perspectives and invited the audience to participate in what was an engaging and lively discussion.
This benchmark report is the most comprehensive review of the sector, reveals the industry hitting new heights with $183.4 billion now managed as responsible investments, up from $131.3 billion in 2016 and $79 billion in 2015.
