Gwen Riley is a Tax partner in our Wellington office and leads the National Innovation & Growth Advisory team. She has over 20 years in the tax profession both in New Zealand and in the United Kingdom.
Since the introduction of the R&D tax credit in 2008, Gwen has assisted clients in securing government R&D funding, via the credit in 2009 and the Growth Grant (Technology Development Grant) in following years.
Clients have included companies across many industry sectors. In the private sector, this particularly includes companies involved in information technology, infrastructure, engineering and food technology. In the public sector, Crown Research Institutes and how they work along side the private sector investment.
In addition, Gwen currently provides a wide range of tax consultancy services to clients across a number of industry sectors, including financial services, infrastructure and Government. This results in a thorough understanding of the commercial environment and the business issues clients’ face.
As a graduate of the 2015 Global Women Breakthrough Leaders Programme, Gwen is a strong role model for females in the profession.
