As a Partner in the KPMG Enterprise Advisory team, Sven has over 20 years’ experience helping businesses to develop their strategy, deliver growth and improve their performance.
Sven joined KPMG in 2015 to help build the national Enterprise Advisory practice in order to support KPMG’s privately-owned business clients with a range of specialised services that will help them improve their performance and build sustainable value in their business. Sven is a leading figure in developing the approaches KPMG uses to help New Zealand private businesses develop and execute their strategic plans. Sven works alongside an expanding team and growing range of private businesses. He works across a variety of business sizes, stages, sectors, and markets.
In addition to private business work, Sven has led a range of projects for KPMG involving pan-sector and complex stakeholder group planning processes. This work has traversed includes construction, infrastructure, ports, health and safety, agriculture, tourism and public media.
As a volunteer, Sven is a lead facilitator for Springboard Trust, which supports school principals to develop their strategy and strategic leadership capability, and so improve the performance of New Zealand’s schools and its tamariki. He is regularly asked to speak and facilitate interactive sessions across New Zealand on strategy, strategic execution and leadership topics for organisations and industry bodies.
With a background in law and business, Sven’s career has spanned management consulting, general management, sales and capital raising roles in both the private and public sector. Sven has a BA and MA from the University of Cambridge in law, and post-graduate qualifications from UCLA. He has worked in the UK, USA, and Europe before returning home to New Zealand with his wife and children.
