John Anyanwu is the Partner and Lead of the Cyber and Privacy practice in KPMG Nigeria and has over 19 years management, technology and risk consulting experience.
He has specific responsibility for building cyber security competences and capabilities within KPMG Nigeria and Africa as a region. He is responsible for leading engagement teams to assist KPMG clients in assessing the adequacy of their cyber security and privacy controls, as well as cyber security and privacy transformation initiatives.
He has led teams spanning multiple geographies including Nigeria, Ghana, Gabon, Guinea, Mali, South Africa, Kenya, Zambia, and Mozambique and worked with KPMG teams in US, UK, Netherlands, Germany, Finland, Cyprus, Portugal, and India, with industry focus across Energy, Financial Services, Telecommunications, Consumer/Industrial and Government sectors.
John is also the National IT Security Officer (NITSO) for KPMG Nigeria as a Firm within the KPMG Global Network, and has responsibility for implementing strategies and measures to secure the Firm’s vital information assets.
John has chaired, moderated and spoken at several leading conferences in Nigeria and Africa such as Africa CEO Forum; ISACA Africa Conference; KPMG Africa Cyber Conference/Webinar; CBN NeFF Conference; West Africa Cyber Security Summit; RIMAN Conference; ICAN Conference; etc.
