KPMG in Malaysia lauds tax board over compliance efforts
19 August 2025
KPMG in Malaysia has released findings from its recent tax survey, conducted in collaboration with the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM) and unveiled at the 25th National Tax Conference 2025. Covering responses from 198 organizations, the survey offers insights into taxpayer experiences with HASiL’s digital services, audit processes and compliance awareness.
Soh Lian Seng, Head of Tax at KPMG in Malaysia, noted that the survey provides valuable direction for strengthening trust in the tax system and supporting Malaysia’s wider reform agenda. The insights are also timely as the nation prepares for the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) 2026–2030, which emphasizes good governance and economic resilience.
