Phang Oy Cheng, Head of Sustainability Advisory at KPMG in Malaysia, provided insights about Bursa Malaysia’s latest initiative, the Centralised Sustainability Reporting platform, which will help provide better transparency in evaluating the quality of sustainability reports in Malaysia.

However, she explained that in order for the platform to fulfill this purpose, factors such as data quality and ESG information disclosure frameworks and standards, along with an increased urgency and stronger framework for ESG reporting, must be taken into account.
