Mohd Khaidzir Shahari and Darren Lee Siet Loon from KPMG Risk Consulting shared their views on how Malaysian corporations seem to have a relaxed perception towards the impact and implication of Section 17A.

They further explained that the act of giving a bribe in this country has always been associated with an individual, and rarely would a corporation or organization feel the pain from the individual being found guilty, beyond the inevitable but often transient reputational damage – one tends to quickly forget.

They also touched on the importance for business leaders to accord Section 17A the weight it deserves.
