The Sales Tax (Persons Exempted from Payment of Tax) (Amendment) Order 2021 has been gazetted and comes into operation on 15 June 2021.

Amongst others, the amendments were made to include a new item in Schedule A of the Exemption Order (i.e. item 58A), specifically for any person approved to carry out bunkering services under the Petroleum Development Act 1974. Goods exempted include diesel fuel, liquefied natural gas, lubricating oil and greases under the specified tariff codes, subject to meeting the conditions stated. There were also amendments to the existing items 58 and 60 of Schedule A, in particular to the goods exempted, conditions and certificate to be signed.
