Sales Tax and Service Tax: Fundamentals and Latest Developments

sales

The Royal Malaysian Customs Department ("Customs") recently introduced the Voluntary Disclosure and Amnesty ("VA") Programme for Indirect Taxes with incentives up to 100% penalty remission and 30% tax remission. With this development, taxpayers are encouraged to review their indirect tax positions and participate in the programme to regulate their indirect tax affairs.

Since its inception back in 2018, there have been numerous legislative changes with new guides and clarifications issued by Customs on Sales Tax and Service Tax ("SST") making it imperative for businesses to ensure they are well aware of the updates and continue to be in compliance with the SST legislations. Also, where relevant, businesses can also consider taking advantage of the VA programme before it expires.

In this webinar, we will provide a refresher course on the key fundamentals and latest updates / developments on Sales Tax and Service Tax.
