Leading professional services firm KPMG in Malta has announced a leadership transition, with David Pace taking the helm as Senior Partner as of 1 October 2025.
David Pace succeeds André Zarb, under whose leadership the firm experienced significant expansion, achieving strong revenue growth and enhancing its capabilities across advisory, tax and audit practices in Malta.
On David’s appointment, André stated “I am confident that under David’s leadership, KPMG in Malta will continue to strengthen its position in the market, while remaining focused on delivering value to our clients and opportunities to our people. David’s experience and vision make him exceptionally well placed to guide the firm into its next chapter”.
David joined KPMG in Malta in 2002 and has over 20 years of experience across a wide range of advisory assignments. He currently leads Malta’s Advisory function- one of the broadest multi-disciplinary practices in the country -and also heads the Clients & Markets function for the KPMG Islands Group, a regional cluster within KPMG’s global network. The KPMG Islands Group brings together more than 3,000 professionals serving clients from across 11 island locations.

Throughout his career, David has assisted clients in successfully raising debt and equity finance, valuing business interests, and has played a leading role in mergers and acquisitions. His engagement portfolio has led him to work at the heart of strategy within several organisations. David also advises family businesses, helping them navigate their next phase of growth and succession. He has also been active in supporting entrepreneurs and early-stage companies, serving as Past Chairperson of the JAYE Malta Foundation (formerly Young Enterprise).
I am honoured to take the helm as Senior Partner at KPMG in Malta. My priority will be to build on the strong legacy established by my predecessors, focused on our purpose and the value we bring to our clients; listening, understanding, reflecting, and acting to support their growth. Together with our people and leadership team, I am committed to our ambition that KPMG is the most trusted professional services firm for the organisations we serve in Malta and beyond.
André joined KPMG in 1986 and he took over responsibility for the tax function in Malta in 1993. He was appointed partner in 1994 and was instrumental in driving significant developments within the tax function. Over nearly three decades, he has advised leading local and international businesses, multinationals, private equity firms, and the public sector on tax matters. He has played a key role in developing Malta’s tax framework and establishing the country as a financial centre, including providing guidance on EU-related fiscal matters following Malta’s accession to the European Union.
As I step down from the role of Senior Partner, I take great pride in the progress we have made as a firm. I am confident that I leave behind a strong organisation with the foundations for continued success, supported by a talented and committed leadership team. I have no doubt that David will build on this momentum and guide KPMG in Malta to even greater achievements.
