As a specialist in the funds regulatory environment, Gilbert has developed in-depth technical knowledge of local and EU investment services, fund regulations, and structures. As an active participant in KPMG's Investment Management EMA network, he is highly engaged within Malta’s investment services community and frequently participates in industry conferences both locally and abroad.

In addition to his advisory role, Gilbert leads assurance engagements for investment firms and funds, overseeing teams to deliver work of exceptional quality. Over his three-year tenure at KPMG, he has continually refined his technical expertise in these areas, further enhancing his knowledge and experience.

Gilbert is also a recognised GRC Subject Matter Expert, with extensive experience working alongside both regulated entities and government agencies. His expertise spans risk management and mitigation, the design and implementation of robust internal control frameworks, and leading compliance initiatives aligned with regulatory requirements. With a proven track record of strengthening governance structures, Gilbert ensures organisational resilience through sound corporate governance, effective risk oversight, and the delivery of board-level training.
