Since joining KPMG, Yanika has progressed within the aforementioned team and now manages a small team of people for various engagements, and carries out reviews of periodic management accounts and statutory annual reports. Over the years she has been entrusted with a vast portfolio of both local and international clients including sectors such as aviation and air charters, shipping and yatch leasing, gaming and software development, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, construction, holding and investment companies including investment property, investments in portfolio, subsidiaries, associates and joint ventures, as well as investment in financial instruments. She is proficient in applying both the local default accounting framework GAPSME as well as IFRSs as adopted by the EU.
Apart from accounting and related support services, Yanika assists clients with their periodic VAT compliance obligations, with particular experience in shipping and aviation.
Over the years she has been involved in a number of initiatives apart from her allocated portfolio, such as acting as staff representative, involved in recruitment drives, and also member of the systems committee with special interest in Microsoft Excel. She is currently involved in implementing a management project for the accounting department.
She also holds a comprehensive use of various accounting software such as Access Dimensions, Sage50, Intuit QuickBooks and Xero.
Yanika has also delivered various technical presentations both within KPMG and through professional training institutions such as Society Education. Areas covered included the accounting for investments under GAPSME accounting framework and accounting for certain assets under the IFRS framework.
