In performing daily work duties, employees use and perform a number of activities with information about natural persons - their colleagues, the company's customers and their employees, cooperation partners, officials and others on a daily basis.

As practice shows, it is most often employees who become the source of a personal data breach, so it is important to ensure that employees are familiar with and understand the basic principles of personal data protection, are able to identify potential data breaches and know how to act, under certain circumstances.

Online training course "Personal Data Protection and Privacy" will allow you and your employees to get acquainted with the most important issues that anyone who comes into contact with personal data in the course of their daily work duties should know at a convenient time and place.

The course covers the following topics:

      • Why personal data protection is important. What is personal data, their processing, what consequences can occur if their protection is not ensured.
      • Basic principles of personal data protection. Basic principles, including the preconditions for the transfer and acquisition of personal data, the security of personal data, and the recognition of security breaches and risks.
      • Action’s ABC in the case of a breach. What to do if a personal data breach has occurred or is likely that has occurred.
      • Test. At the end of the course there is a test of the knowledge

Duration of the course (training + test): 2 hours (3 academic hours).

The course (training and test) is created in Latvian and English with audio material: each employee is provided with the opportunity to take the course in the language most convenient for him/ her, at the same time providing the opportunity to both read and listen to the study material.

Trained staff directly demonstrate compliance with the GDPR and are a precondition for proper and effective compliance with the company's, institution's or organisation's internal data protection procedures.
