KPMG in Latvia advises Danish Sun Energy ApS on the sale of a solar PV and battery storage project in Latvia
Danish Sun Energy ApS has completed the sale of its 100% shareholding in the Latvian project company SIA DSE Lazas Solar, which is developing one of the largest planned solar PV generation projects in Latvia. The project was acquired by SUNOTEC, one of Europe’s leading renewable energy infrastructure companies.
The Deal Advisory team at KPMG in Latvia – Artūrs Petrovs, Toms Bērzkalns and Dainis Bass – provided advisory support to Danish Sun Energy ApS throughout the transaction.
The “Lazas Solar Park” project, with a planned capacity of 400 MWp of solar PV and 600 MWh of battery energy storage, will be constructed in Cīrava parish, Dienvidkurzeme Municipality, with commissioning scheduled for March 2027.
The project also includes the construction of a new 330 kV substation “Padure” in cooperation with the Latvian electricity transmission system operator AS "Augstsprieguma tīkls", ensuring connection to the national electricity transmission grid. The total investment in the project is estimated at up to EUR 245 million.
