Role & Responsibilities

  • Prepare draft versions of procedural documents for court, government, municipal, and law enforcement authorities
  • Analyse the client’s situation and contribute to formulation of solutions and strategies’
  • Conduct research on complex legal application issues, based on the principles of legal technique, and draft legal opinions
  • Keep track of procedural deadlines and progress in legal proceedings, and inform thereon attorneys at law and the client
  • Collect, search and prepare evidence to be filed to courts or law enforcement authorities
  • Perform a legal due diligence and analysis to strengthen the client’s position and arguments
  • Prepare various draft opinions on the legal assessment of the client’s situation
  • Prepare the case for court, prepare the hearing plan and arguments for the hearing
  • Participate in negotiations between clients and other parties to the dispute
  • Keep track of the current court practice and prepare short newsletters to colleagues and clients

Education and experience

  • You have a Master’s degree in Law and a lawyer qualification
  • You have experience of at least 2 years in Law
  • Experience in legal and dispute resolution will be considered an advantage
  • Status of assistant to an attorney at law, or attorney at law will be considered an advantage 

Technical skills

  • You possess strong knowledge of civil and administrative law
  • You have a good command of MS Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • You are fluent in Latvian and English, both written and spoken

  • You have a mindset for high quality of work
  • You are a responsible, self-motivated, independent and pro-active person eager to learn and grow
  • You pay attention to details, maintain quality of work and are able to work within tight deadlines in a demanding and competitive environment
