Julien is a tax Partner within the Tax Alternative Investments team, which encompasses private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real estate. His areas of expertise involve international tax advisory services for real estate & private debt clients (i.e. fund managers, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, institutional investors) on cross-border tax planning solutions. In addition, Julien worked for seven years on the preparation of the annual ALFI/KPMG Luxembourg private debt fund survey, which provides an outlook on the current private lending market trends in Luxembourg. Julien is also working on the KPMG Luxembourg alternative investments substance survey.

Areas of expertise

  • Tax structuring of regulated and unregulated real estate and debt funds.
  • Developing tax structuring strategies for debt and real estate investments, including infrastructure & logistics, as well as distressed debt, securitization and loan origination.
  • Assistance with international tax structuring, mergers & acquisitions, design of financing and acquisition structures, group restructuring, intragroup financing, involving local and foreign investments. 
  • Master's degree in business law, University of Liège, Belgium

  • Diploma in Luxembourg taxation from the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce
