KPMG Law Kazakhstan represented PGU Turkestan LLP in the negotiation of an EPC contract for the construction of a combined cycle power plant in the Turkestan Region with a capacity of 1000 MW. The contract was developed based on the FIDIC Silver Book, which is widely used in international practice.
The large-scale project will increase the reliability of Kazakhstan's power system, compensate for the lack of power capacity, and mitigate emergency power surges created by the Central Asian power system. Moreover, this power plant will enable the uninterrupted supply of energy to socially-oriented vital facilities independently. The total amount of investment will exceed 600 billion tenge.
