Dear Readers,

The Government recently expanded1 the list of imported goods for which VAT can be paid through an offset method. This initiative is aimed at supporting the construction and modernization of the country’s energy infrastructure.

The updated list now includes 17 additional categories, such as metal structures, turbines, boilers, heating system equipment, and apparatus for managing electrical circuits. The offset VAT payment procedure for these newly added items apply to companies involved in building, modernizing, expanding, and renovating thermal and electric power facilities, provided they have signed relevant state investment contracts or agreements. The benefits also apply to leasing companies importing goods for such projects.

The order came into effect on 18 October 2024.
