Dear readers,

The Order of the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Approval of the List of In-Demand Jobs for Foreigners to Obtain a Permanent Residence Permit in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Rules for its Formation" No.49 dated 20 February 2023 has been put into effect since 28 February 2023.1

The Order established a list of 21 in-demand jobs in the field of science, healthcare, industry, information and communication technologies, namely:

  1. Neurosurgeon;
  2. Doctor-hematologist;
  3. Oncologist;
  4. Neonatologist;
  5. Endocrinologist;
  6. Research engineer on the technology of inorganic substances;
  7. Research engineer on organic substances technology;
  8. Pharmacy process engineer;
  9. Research engineer for the preparation of minerals;
  10. Aviation engineer;
  11. Space system hardware and software engineer;
  12. Engineer for the introduction of new equipment and technology;
  13. Laser equipment engineer;
  14. Research engineer for the production of cellulose, paper, printing and fiber;
  15. Engineer-medical radiochemist;
  16. Engineer-medical physicist;
  17. Classifier of textile raw materials;
  18. Bacteriologist;
  19. IT Infrastructure architect;
  20. Software architect;
  21. Master of vocational training (engineering).

Thus, foreigners who have the above-mentioned in-demand jobs can obtain a residence permit in the internal affairs bodies.
