Kazakhstan ratified[1] the Agreement on the exchange of information on movements of cash and monetary instruments across the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union to combat the money-laundering and financing of terrorism.
The Agreement establishes the procedure for exchange of information on movements of cash and monetary instruments across the customs border of the EEU.
To exchange the requested information the state authorities of the EEU member states may use an integrated information system, provided that the system qualifies for the information security requirements.
The state authorities participating in the information interaction will undertake measures to protect, store and delete the received information in accordance with their local regulations. The obtained information will be stored no longer than it is required for the purpose of the corresponding request.
The Agreement will enter into force 10 days after the depositary receives the final written notice on the completion of the domestic enforcement procedures via diplomatic channels.
