CMMI® Advisory Services Product Offerings

As part of its training services, KPMG offers the following: 

  • CMMI Appreciation Program
    • To provide an implementation perspective to stakeholders of an organization as it initiates its CMMI aligned process improvement journey. 
  • Quality Auditors’ Workshop
    • To provide and improve organizational capability to assess strengths and weakness of processes (process compliance audits) and take improvement actions. 
  • Risk Management Training
    • To improve the risk management process at organizational level and meet the requirements of the model. 
  • Metrics Program Implementation
    • To improve the measurement capability of the organization to quantitatively manage projects and organizations process performance.
  • Introduction to CMMI-SVC (Staged and Continuous) 
    • This is a formal certification course offered by KPMG as a transition partner of SEI. This is the combined course covering both the representations – Staged and Continuous of CMMI-SV 
    • This three-day course introduces participants to the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) fundamental concepts 
    • This course is a prerequisite for CMMI Appraisal Team Members and the CMMI Intermediate concepts course.

As part of its advisory services KPMG offers the following: 

  • Gap analysis

A formal gap analysis of the quality system including both adequacy of documentation and practice implementation vis-à-vis the requirements of the targeted maturity/capability level of the organization. The results of the gap analysis are used by the organization to determine their improvement strategy. 

  • Implementation reviews

These reviews evaluate the degree of institutionalization and corrective actions are proposed. 

  • Check point reviews

These reviews provide a ‘go’ / ‘no go’ for a SCAMPI appraisal. 

CMMI Appraisal Product Offerings

KPMG offers SCAMPISM Appraisal services for organizations embarking on their process improvement initiatives.

SCAMPI Appraisals

  • Depending on the need of the organization, either a SCAMPI ‘B / C‘ or SCAMPI ‘A’ appraisal is conducted 
  • SCAMPI 'A' could be used for establishing a benchmark for the organization. A typical SCAMPI ‘A’ appraisal is carried out by a Lead Appraiser supported by a ATMs and will include ATM training, Appraisal participant briefing, Initial documentation review, Interviews with the practitioners, findings consolidation, rating generation and reporting to SEI. The focus of SCAMPI 'A' is to validate the institutionalization 
  • SCAMPI 'B' could be used for checking the deployment of processes in projects. A typical SCAMPI ‘B’ appraisal is carried out by a Lead Appraiser or a person trained and experienced in carrying out SCAMPI 'B'. SCAMPI 'B' does not lead to generation of rating 
  • SCAMPI 'C' could be used for reviewing the process descriptions and the approach taken to satisfy the goals of CMMI. SCAMPI 'C' does not lead to generation of rating.
